How to connect Candid to ShipStation
ShipStation is more than just a great shipping app - it's one of the best and fastest ways to link Candid seamlessly to your accounting, 3PL, and multichannel inventory systems. New to ShipStation? Read more about it here.
Does ShipStation cost anything?
If you don't already use ShipStation you will need to sign up for an account before following the steps below. You can learn more about their pricing plans here.
Note: If you currently use ShipStation for your B2C e-commerce site, you still need to follow the steps below - this will create a second store just for Candid.
Getting Started
You will want to have both ShipStation and your Candid account open at the same time on your computer. In your Candid account head to your Integrations page:
Step 1
In your ShipStation account click on the gear icon and go to Selling Channels > Store Setup:
Step 2
Click Connect a Store or Marketplace:
When the modal pops up asking you what you want to connect, type manual in the search bar and then click on Manual Store:
Fill out the store connection form (you can set these options however you want):
Step 3
Get your API Key and Secret from: https://ship9.shipstation.com/settings/api
Step 4
Back in your Candid account, enter your API key and secret, then click "Connect":
How does it all work?
Back in Candid, when an order is approved by both parties, the Ready to Ship and Send Shipment buttons will now send the order to ShipStation, where it will automatically move between states like "Awaiting Shipment", "Shipped", etc. depending on what you do in Candid. Conversely, when you manually change the shipment's status in ShipStation this will update the order in Candid.
Note: Candid orders will only be sent to ShipStation once the Ready to Ship button has been toggled on:
Not seeing current order information?
Don't forget to click the "Update all stores" sync button in ShipStation so it has the latest information from Candid. And by the same token, if you're managing shipments in ShipStation, don't forget to refresh your Candid tab if you want to see the latest shipment status.
