Do my customers need to have a Candid account?


A common question we hear from sellers is whether or not their buyers need to sign up for a Candid account. The short answer is no, but it's important to understand how that will change the ordering process since that will require some more work for the seller.

A couple main points to consider:

  • You will need to create orders in Candid on behalf of your buyer
  • You will also need to pre-approve orders you create on behalf of your buyer
  • You will need to invoice your buyer outside of Candid
  • Communication with your buyers will need to happen outside of Candid

How does it work?

  1. Create the sales order
  2. Pre-approve the order
  3. Mark the invoice as sent externally
  4. Send a PDF of the invoice to your buyer (usually using your own email)
  5. Await payment and/or ship the order as normal
