Tagging orders, customers, and products with tags

In addition to importing product tags from your connected ecommerce, Candid has a powerful built-in tagging system that you can use to tag the following types of record:

  • Products
  • Customers
  • Orders
  • Shipments

How Tags Work In Candid

There are two types of tag in Candid: simple tags & grouped tags. A simple tag can be any number of words (eg, "Made in USA"), and any given record can have as many separate tags as you want.

Simple tag "Shagreen"

A grouped tag is created by adding a colon to the tag, like so:

Grouped tag "Material: Shagreen"

Everything in front of the colon is the category, and everything after is the subtag. Grouped tags are great for organizing when you have a lot of different types of tag and want to keep them visually organized. For example, entering "Material: Silk" adds it to the tag list like so:

You can then apply tags by selecting them from the list and/or creating them via the dropdown menu.

Product Tags

Product tags can be applied, searched and filtered in the Product Manager. Candid tags are kept separate from synced ecommerce tags but live in the same "Tags" field:

If you have a product that you're moving or temporarily unpublishing, product tags can be a great way to keep track of those original category & section assignments so you can quickly restore them in the future.

Customer Tags

Customer tags can be applied, searched and filtered in the Customers area. If you're importing a list of existing customers, you can include tags in your CSV for bulk application.

Common customer tags include region, rep, store type, style:

Order Tags

Order tags can be applied, searched and filtered in the Sales area, which includes Orders and Reports. Tags can be applied at any point in the order lifecycle:

Shipping Tags

Shipping tags can be applied to order shipments, which can be found in the "Shipping & Delivery" area of an order:

You can then use search filters to find tagged shipments on your Orders page:
