Why are my emails going to spam?

What is whitelisting?

Whitelisting is the term used to refer to the process of adding approved contacts to your email account. This can help keep most emails from ending up in your spam folder. You can whitelist emails either at the individual level (a single email address) or the domain level (multiple emails from one place—think all emails ending in @candidwholesale.com).

The email that you will want to add to your email's address book and/or whitelist is: noreply@candidwholesale.com

Why did my email get marked as Spam?

Spam filters have gotten much better over the years. So much better that they tend to get carried away when it comes to marking messages as spam or junk mail. Sometimes, it happens because an important contact of yours has fallen victim to a phishing attack. Other times it could be because the emails are coming from a shared server and getting penalized for spammy server neighbors. Other times, the filters just get it wrong.

The good news is whitelisting is an easy fix, and there are a few different approaches you can use to prevent important emails from landing in the wrong folder.

How to whitelist an email address with Gmail

If Gmail has marked emails you wish to whitelist as spam, tell Gmail the emails are not spam:

  1. In Gmail, navigate to the spam folder
  2. Search for emails containing the domain you wish to whitelist (eg team@candidwholesale.com)
  3. Select all the emails shown
  4. Click Not spam

Create a filter to tell Google to whitelist an email address:

  1. Click the cog icon in the top-right corner, and then Settings
  2. Click on Filters and then Create a new filter
  3. Either enter the domain of the email you want to whitelist in the From field -or- enter the email address of the online group you want to whitelist in the To field
  4. Click Create filter with this search
  5. In the box headed When a message arrives that matches this search select Never send it to spam
  6. Click the Create filter button

  • Do not enter email addresses in both the From and To fields as Gmail will only filter in emails that meet both criteria
  • In both the From and To fields, you can enter either a specific email address or an entire domain
  • To enter multiple domains in each field separate them with OR as in “team@candidwholesale.com OR sales@candidwholesale.com

Still having trouble getting your emails? Emails still going to the junk folder or not getting them at all?

The email that you will want to add to your email's address book and/or whitelist is: noreply@candidwholesale.com

If you have followed all the steps to add folks to your address book and whitelisted everything but are still having issues then it may be time to check your other email settings. Sometimes problems can occur when someone is using the same domain host for their website and their email (think GoDaddy, Wix, etc.) because it's not always clear on what settings to use and things can get confusing real fast. In this case you will need to check your email settings with them and see if some adjustments need to made. If you are still stuck we recommend contacting your domain/email hosts support team so that they can walk you through setting your email up correctly.
