How to set up instant checkout for your buyers

Wholesale orders can be complicated with things like deposits, net terms, and split shipments – but sometimes they're really straightforward. If you find yourself wanting to fast-track to the end of the order lifecycle, Candid offers a shop and checkout experience that can be enabled per catalog, per customer, or globally for all your buyers.

How is Instant Checkout different?

Instant Checkout differs from the standard ordering process in the following ways:

  • Submitted orders are automatically approved by both buyer and seller, similar to auto-approved orders.
  • When a buyer clicks the order submission button they are instantly presented with the payment interface.
  • Once paid, the order is marked "Finalized" and ready for fulfilment.

What is the process for adding shipping fees with Instant Checkout?

Shipping is not automatically calculated within Candid, so if you have highly variable shipping rates we recommend communicating this clearly to your buyers by sharing your ordering details with them.

If you charge a flat fee for shipping you can set that up globally at the catalog level, or you can set it up per customer. Click on the following link to learn more about how to set up automatic shipping charges.

How do you set up Instant Checkout?

To activate the Instant Checkout feature for your buyers you will first need to contact our support team so that we can flip the switch for your account.

Once your account is activated you have the following options on how you want to apply this feature:

  • Set it globally at the catalog level. This will allow all of your customers shopping from that catalog Instant Checkout access.
  • Set it up at the customer level only. This lets you pick and choose which customers can pay for their orders without your approval first.

We'll break these options down into more detail below.

How to set up Instant Checkout at the catalog level

From your catalog editor click on the "Advanced" drop-down menu:

Next, select the Pay at Checkout option:

Moving forward, any customer who has access to that catalog will be able to use Instant Checkout when they submit their order.

Another option is to allow only certain customers to use Instant Checkout. Instead of changing the setting on your catalog, you can instead change the setting on the Customer Details page for individual customers:
